The ministries of the church are a vehicle by which every member will become a responsible leader and
these ministries encourage the people to work co-operatively.
It is very important to note the importance of the accounting
systems as we strongly believe in accountability.
Business Peoples Forum
The business people owners and the potential business
people are encouraged to work as a team. The established and the experienced business people will meet with those who are
still up and coming and will work in teams.
They meet monthly for business fellowship and empowerment seminars.
Community Outreaches
The church will strongly encourage its members to be involved,
and if possible take positions of leadership in the community outreaches.
Empowerment forum
This is the body of people meeting to map out the programmes
of empowerment to the people in the church and the community at large.
Sports and Recreation Ministry
This is the ministry that is taking care of those
that are professionally and also those who are unprofessionally involved in all codes of sports. The importance of the team
is to make sure they intervene in the sports programmes, making sure to give spiritual support and guidance to those people
involved with sports.
Poverty Alleviation programme
This program is specifically looking after the physical
needs of the people committed to the vision of ECC.
People with these needs are identified and their names submitted to
this committee and they are given support as required.
Youth and young peoples fellowship
This program takes care of the spiritual needs
of the youth at large.
Children's care
This is a child support ministry helping the children in developing
a balanced lifestyle.
Home fellowships
This is a fellowship of a few groups of saints living in the
same locality. This is also helpful in terms of addressing the family's spiritual needs.
Tertiary Ambassador's Programme
This ministry is meant for students in high schools
and universities. To give them spiritual support and to engage them in ministry programmes.
Pensioner's Care
This ministry is committed to supporting the elderly. Helping
them as individuals at their homes and also making sure they are supported spiritually. The doctors will take care of the
elderly once a month or as much as she/he is needed.
Safer City's Forum
ECC is committed to making sure that our cities are free of
crime and violence by getting involved in the community structures for safer cities. Make sure that we pray and involve ourselves
in making our cities tourist-friendly cities.
Nation Building Forum
This forum will ensure that those people identified as nation
builders will be acknowledged and be given due recognition. Some yearly awards will be given to those people identified as
National heroes.
Couple's Ministry
The ministry for those who are married and engaged to be married.
The ministry has monthly meetings for support and development.
Early morning Prayer meetings
All the ministries above are the responsibilities of the church
at large. As a church we encourage the mass participation and we extend our hand to interact with the community structures.
Africa Arise foundation
This foundation is the vehicle of moral regeneration and renaissance in the
church. The foundation is led by the youth department of the church.
This is a registered NGO that was initiated
by the youth leadership.
AAF seeks to be the delivery vehicle for the African Renaissance and Moral Regeneration Movement.
It mobilizes and engages Youth and community at large on topical issues such as: Abstinence from drugs, substance abuse,
crime, violence and any other things that leads to moral decay. To ensure the success of our country's heritage and economy
by promoting patriotism.
AAF will hold debates, arts and cultural programmes, community outreaches and media dialogues on topical
issues each month to engage South Africans.
It will also hold empowerment seminars for youth to equip them economically.
In the youth month of June, Africa Arise, in partnership with the Dept of Health and Ethekwini Community Church, will hold
the yearly event known as the Abstinence Walk.
Hope Center Clinic
This is an HIV/AIDS clinic which was initiated by Dr Taki Dube which has become
the outreach programme of the church. It is primarily an institution that specialises in fighting the scourge of the diseases.
PREVENTION
The Abstinence Walk, this is an annual event that encourages the youth to abstain from pre-marital sex, drugs and alcohol,
and this year we encourage people to abstain from using freeways on foot to avoid accidents.
CARE
These are the things done in the clinic with regards to care:
- Free Voluntary Counselling and Testing.
- Individual Pre-Test counselling.
- Individual HIV testing.
- Individual Post Test Counselling.
- Ongoing individual emotional and Spiritual Counselling and Support.
- Free HIV wellness Management Clinical Stage.
TRAINING
This is a programme that is part of an investment to the individuals and to communities of
those infected and affected.

Hope Center Accreditation
- On 26/11/04, 01/12/04, 02/12/04 and 03/12/04 we successfully conducted VCT for SAPO DCT and MPT and tested 400 employees
for HIV.
- We have successfully run a Community VCT site for the past three years which means we are hands-on.
- Spoornet is the major funder of our Community outreach project and they have increased their sponsorship because of their
confidence with our work.
- We Completed an HIV/AIDS Peer Educator's Training for SAPO on 27/10/04 and got raving complements from the delegates.
- On 29/10/04 we completed an HIV/AIDS Counsellor's Training for National Ports Authority.
- SAPO has attended 2 of our Abstinence Walk Dinners and have always found our organisation commendable and have always
offered to be supportive of our initiatives.
- Extensive experience in HIV Advocacy (See Annexure).
- Recognition of our work by: KZN Health Mec: Dr Zweli Mkhize, KZN Premier: Premier Sbu Ndebele, Mayor of eThekwini: Mayor
Obed Mlaba, His Royal Highness: King Goodwill Zwelithini, National Minister of Health: Dr Manto Tshabalala - Msimang, Minister
of Transport, Safety and Security: Minister Bheki Cele, to name but a few.
- Acceptance in the Communities: Port Shepstone to Durban on the Eastern Seaboard, Durban to Empangeni in the North, Pietermaritzburg
to Ladysmith (Southern and Midlands); these are communities we traversed through on foot during our Abstinence Campaign: (see
Annexure)
- 2005 Abstinence Campaign will touch the Northern KZN communities including Ulundi.
- Our staff are exposed to the latest updates from the Department of Health and to international updates through the HIV
Clinicians society.
- Department of health refers students (Lay Counsellors)to be trained by the Hope Centre.
- Provincial Aids Action unit uses the Hope Centre as a VCT model to their international delegates.
- The Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine sends their first and fourth year medical students for community health training
and exposure on a quarterly basis.
- We are partners with HIVAN (They are a centre for HIV AIDS network worldwide).
- HIVAN has published an international scientific research on the Hope Centre as a holistic HIV VCT model.
- Our training includes transfer of skills as well as after service support.
